DAVID MCWILLIAMS B.Health Sc., Doctor of Physiotherapy, APAM
David completed his Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of Sydney in 2014 before completing his Doctor of Physiotherapy from Macquarie University in 2017. Currently, David is furthering his studies, undertaking a Masters of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy through LaTrobe University in Melbourne. Since starting work as a physiotherapist, David has worked solely in private practice. He has a keen interest in sports injuries; particularly shoulder injuries in tennis players/throwers, hip and knee injuries, and overuse injuries for distance runners. As part of his clinical work, he has been Head Physiotherapist to the Northern Saints Rugby team, and undertaken sports coverage roles in Ultimate Frisbee and tennis tournaments. David is currently the Head Physiotherapist to the Northern Tigers Football Club, and personally oversees the games and training sessions of the First Grade Women’s team. As part of his role at the Tigers, he has developed his skills in exercise prescription for the in-season and off-season athlete, as well as player GPS data analysis to ensure optimal injury prevention. David prides himself on his excellent communication skills. He strives to examine his patients thoroughly, so he can fully understand all possible contributing factors to his patient’s condition. He also has a passion for teaching, to educate his patients on the intricacies of their injury. His main goal is to use the most up-to-date research and clinical reasoning skills to assist his patients effectively, and reduce their risk of a future injury. Outside of work, David is a keen tennis player, a diehard Adelaide Crows fan and a smitten father to his two daughters.
