HILLARY SIMON B.Sc. (Physiotherapy) APAM

Hillary graduated from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa in 1984.

Hillary established Hillary Simon Physiotherapy in 1991. In 2003, St Ives Physiotherapy & Sports Therapy Centre was purchased and the two practices merged. Hillary continues to run the practice which now operates out of The Loft, Level 3, St Ives Shopping Village. Hillary has a special interest in the treatment of both acute and chronic pain. These principles are applied when treating acute back and neck pain, arthritic joints and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Much focus is placed on ongoing education.

Hillary is a certified Tai Chi for Rehabilitation, Tai Chi for Arthritis and Tai Chi for Energy Instructor. Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursdays at 10 am, Thursday 11:00 am and 5:30 pm.

Pain management courses

More recently, Hillary has worked in collaboration with Robyn Birch to develop and operate an innovative pain management program based on the latest research evidence developed by Royal North Shore Hospital, designed to improve function and quality of life of chronic pain patients.

Hillary volunteered physiotherapy services at Oxfam Trailwalker (2009, 2010, 2011), Sydney Half Marathon (2011, 2012), City to Surf (2011, 2012), and Bare Creek Trail Run (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015). She currently leads the Village Walkers (an initiative of St Ives Physiotherapy & Sports Therapy Centre, The Athletes Foot and St Ives Shopping Village) on a 1 hour walk twice a week.

St Ives Physiotherapy & Sports Therapy Centre prides itself in supporting the local community. The practice has ties with St Ives Rugby Football Club (providing on field assistance on weekends), Northern Tigers Football Club (on field assistance), Northern Suburbs Football Association (sponsorship), and St Ives Bowling Club (sponsorship).
