MIKEY KILLEN Physiotherapist - BPhysio (Hons)
Mikey is particularly enthusiastic about rehabilitation of acute and overuse injuries to empower patients to return to what they love doing. Having experienced two recent knee surgeries which prevented Mikey from taking part in his love for surfing, rugby, and powerlifting, he understands the struggle and de-motivation injuries can bring. This has led Mikey to a passion in using his skills as a physiotherapist to help people of all ages rehabilitate from debilitating injuries – from youth athletes to elderly alike. After Graduating from ACU with First Class Honours in 2021, Mikey went straight into full time work at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. He gained invaluable experience and skills as a physiotherapist in acute neurological rehabilitation with children who had experienced spinal cord and brain injuries, in Paediatric ICU, and in management of Musculoskeletal and Orthopedic conditions. He also worked rurally across sites at Milton-Ulladulla Hospital and Shoalhaven Hospital on the South Coast, where he ran balance classes and managed patients with complex chronic conditions. Mikey takes great care to build rapport with his patients, with placing upmost importance on patient-centred goals. Mikey also takes particular attention in creating specifically tailored exercise programs to ensure optimal outcomes – whilst making sure they are fun too! Sports coverage experience:
